Where the data comes from
The MCP servers directory is built from the open-source best-of-mcp-servers index (CC-BY-SA-4.0) combined with official GitHub repository references. We never invent descriptions, licenses or capabilities: when a field is unknown, we display it as Unknown.
What the ANG score means
The ANG score (0–100) is a transparent quality signal computed from measurable attributes of each entry: description richness, category demand, and whether the project is maintained by a recognized organization. It is a discovery aid — not a certification. Always review the official repository before adopting any server.
Confidence Methodology v2 (approved)
We are replacing the legacy ANG score with a published, deterministic confidence formula: confidence = 100 × (0.35 × source quality + 0.25 × freshness + 0.25 × completeness + 0.15 × verification depth). Every input is derived from recorded data — no unexplained numbers.
- Source quality: official repo (1.0) › official docs (0.9) › maintainer statement (0.75) › reputable index (0.6) › community (0.4) › unconfirmed automated extraction (0.2)
- Freshness: 1.0 at check-day → 0.5 at 30d → 0.2 at 90d → 0 at 180d
- Completeness: share of core fields that are not Unknown (name, description, category, pricing, license, platforms, use cases)
- Verification depth: human-reviewed (1.0) › automated checks (0.5) › none (0)
- Transition: the legacy ANG score is shown temporarily alongside confidence, with its history preserved in the dataset (legacy_score)
Verification levels
- ✓ Verified — we hold reviewed bilingual enrichment (overview, use cases, FAQ) for this entry.
- ◐ Partially verified — core data is confirmed against the source index but deep enrichment is pending.
- ◌ Needs review — entry is listed from the source index with baseline scoring only.
Freshness
Each page shows the date the underlying dataset was last refreshed (currently weekly via automated sync). If a repository changes after our last check, the official repo is always authoritative. (Last refresh: 2026-08-25)
Our own tools
Free utilities on this site (calculators, generators, converters) run entirely in your browser. The AI PDF Analyzer processes documents in memory only and requires your explicit consent before anything is sent for analysis.
FAQ
Is the ANG score a certification?
No. The ANG score is a transparent discovery signal based on measurable attributes — not a substitute for reviewing each server's official repository.
What happens when information is unavailable?
We display it as Unknown. We never fill gaps with invented data — the official repository is always authoritative.
